BWT bestico — crystal-clear ice and ice-maker protection
A filter cartridge for ice makers. Dual protection: the ice is clear, without cloudiness or off-tastes, and the ice maker stays free of limescale. Integrated pre-filtration catches even large amounts of particles, a special BWT polyphosphate protects the appliance against deposits. Compact, easy installation via the besthead FLEX head.

How the water passes through the filter — 3 stages
- Particle pre-filter — catches coarse impurities, and thanks to its special design even large amounts of them.
- Activated carbon with silver — reduces organic substances and compounds causing off-odours and off-tastes (e.g. chlorine).
- BWT polyphosphate — stabilisation against limescale, protects the ice maker from deposits.
Which size to choose
Choose the size according to ice production volume — a larger cartridge = greater capacity and a longer replacement interval. The manufacturer recommends replacement after 6 months, at the latest after 12 (or when the capacity is used up).

Connection — besthead FLEX
bestico connects via the universal head BWT besthead FLEX. You buy the head once, then change the cartridges as needed.
- Tool-free FLEX technology — the fittings click in, you rotate them in 30° steps.
- EASY Bypass — water cut setting with a lock and a legible scale (0–3).
- EASY Vent — integrated venting and flushing valve.
- Cartridge change without interrupting the water — check valves on both inlet and outlet.

Installing filtration? Measure water consumption
For every installation we strongly recommend the BWT AQA monitor — a digital water meter that tracks the volume of water that has passed through. So you know exactly when to change the filter: by real consumption, not by estimate.
